I recently read the play Oedipus Rex for my introductory drama class, and I finally discovered the origin of that famous riddle, the riddle of the Sphinx:

ReplyDeleteWell, here comes a more serious answer: We walk on all fours as a baby when we learn to crawl. On two legs when we learn to walk, and on three when we walk with a cane in our old age.
