No, I'm not 50 years old yet. I'm talking about everyone's favorite building toy, that you played with when you were a kid, and now have hidden in a box somewhere or gave away to the next generation. I'm talking about the humble Lego brick we all know and love, the patent for which was filed by its inventor, Godtfred Kirk Kristansen, at 1:58 PM on January 28th, 1958 at the Danish patent office. It's hard to imagine this toy being around for 50 years, when I've only played with it for 17 years or so. I think I got my first Lego set when I was 5 or 6, but I don't remember for sure. Ah yes, good times. Here's to 50 years of Lego, and I'm looking forward to 50 more!
